Well, this is certainly odd.
[Emmy stumbles a little as she appears in the lobby - understandable, really, given that she was stepping out of the Laytonmobile just a moment before. Much as she'd been paying more attention to Layton than her surroundings, she rather doubts that they're parked in a building. After all, they were supposed to be outside Misthallery, and who would put a town inside? Other than, well. Turning on her heel, she discovers that the Laytonmobile isn't even there behind her, anyway, and she promptly wheels around in a full circle to try to get a good look at her surroundings.]
Professor Layton!?
...anyone?
Professor Layton!?
...anyone?

[But, everything that she's doing... it's for her, and for father. They're the reason that she's doing all of this.
...she doesn't want Mother to see her like this, Clive realises. Even without the disguise, she's... not the way that Mother would remember, after all.]
I... I don't want to see her.

I didn't want to see her at first either.
I found that talking to her, though, helped a lot.
no subject
No. She wouldn't... she wouldn't approve. Of... well.
[A broad gestures to what she's wearing, with the hand that's holding the wig.]

Even if I told you that... well... choosing this look in particular... it might not have been just because nobody would ever suspect it was me?

{Also this is nothing compared to what their double had to wear that one time.}

I still... maybe I'll change my mind later, but...

...you've spoken to her, though?
no subject
She's just like I remembered.

And... she's okay? She's... she's really okay?

[She runs a hand across her face, sighing faintly.]
Maybe you're right, and she would be... okay with everything, but... I don't think I can risk that.
no subject
But if she's okay with what I did, I'm sure she'll be okay with... this. {Gestures.}

Just know that she's here. And she loves me. And you. And our double.
{He smiles.} Look at me, I sound like a sage. {He laughs.}

...I'd... rather you didn't tell our 'double', either.
