Well, this is certainly odd.

[Emmy stumbles a little as she appears in the lobby - understandable, really, given that she was stepping out of the Laytonmobile just a moment before. Much as she'd been paying more attention to Layton than her surroundings, she rather doubts that they're parked in a building. After all, they were supposed to be outside Misthallery, and who would put a town inside? ~~Other than, well.~~ Turning on her heel, she discovers that the Laytonmobile isn't even there behind her, anyway, and she promptly wheels around in a full circle to try to get a good look at her surroundings.]

[He walks closer to her, so their faces are inches apart, and he stands his ground.]

My point is, there is something you aren't telling me here. Now if you want to play this game, I'm sure I'll figure it out on my own, but know this: I will find out what you're hiding.

[He smirks and waits for a response.]

[She smirks, as well, determined not to falter with him this close. She's not so stupid as to think he wouldn't catch it, after all.]

[He thinks a moment and nods.]

Well, I don't have anything set in stone yet. Personally, but I have noticed you've been asking a lot of questions. Now for Layton's apprentice that's very usual, but they are generally questions one could say are, on all levels relevant. Yours, however are not.

Secondly, you do not stand like the Emmy I knew. Your knees are slightly bent and your shoulders are not back, like she kept her so often. You, seem to stand like a male.

Lastly, that I've noticed, weren't you shorter the last time I saw you? Perhaps an inch or so?

[He snickers.]

[Her face twists, and she lets out a noise of disgust.]

I think I can rather see why you know us as enemies.

However, I do have one point of contention with your theory; you see, it's all based on evidence of prior knowledge of Emmy Altava. In my world, though, I am Emmy Altava. She is entirely my own fabrication, there.

It... was a method of getting closer to the professor. So that I can observe him, without worrying about getting caught. It's fine for an assistant to watch the person they assist, right?

Except... that the guy who I'm... working with, he says sometimes that he's not sure about involving Layton in our plans at all, let alone something like this, so I had to make a disguise that nobody would ever connect to me.

[Descole nods again. Taking the whole situation in he smiles.]

I'll admit it's a good idea.

So tell me, where all your exploits of men true?

[She flushes, running a hand through her hair.]

[Descole opens his mouth and then closes it looking down at his clothes. His angered expression lightly fades.]

Well, I have a reason to be dressed like this. What's your reason for dressing like some sort of camp, opera villain, hmmm?

[She laughs as soon as she says it, though.]

[Descole gives a stages laugh and then quickly it fades into a frown.]

I've been in theater and performing arts my whole life. It makes sense when you think about it.

You've been in theatre? Oh, man, I should have known.

I did drama at school, myself, only dropped it because I needed other subjects more to help with my plans.

Yes, my mother put me in ballet when I was really young, and I was doing professional when I was four. Then in primary school I was recruited to drama productions.

Why am I telling you this? Damn, do I really need to defend my clothing choice that bad?

[Clive laughs, loudly.]

Ballet? I assume you didn't wear a tutu, at least.

[Descole finds himself turning a red color as he frowns again.]

No, ballet is an art form. I had to wear a lot of suits actually. It wasn't there to embarrass me.

[Though it would be a lie if he said he wasn't. He told himself he wouldn't tell anyone. Dammit.]
