Well, this is certainly odd.

[Emmy stumbles a little as she appears in the lobby - understandable, really, given that she was stepping out of the Laytonmobile just a moment before. Much as she'd been paying more attention to Layton than her surroundings, she rather doubts that they're parked in a building. After all, they were supposed to be outside Misthallery, and who would put a town inside? Other than, well. Turning on her heel, she discovers that the Laytonmobile isn't even there behind her, anyway, and she promptly wheels around in a full circle to try to get a good look at her surroundings.]

Professor Layton!?

...anyone?

Unsure if Monocle would survive trying to seduce this one

You called, Emmy?

[Has appeared behind her, smiling in his inoffensive manner.]

Now that you've spoilered me I'm refraining from commenting on that BD

Hershel Layton; who else?

[identity profile] monocle-layton.livejournal.com 2011-12-15 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
There are a few of us here, yes. This is a rather complex place for those who have just arrived to understand.

I mean that you are not where you once were. You have been sent, through unknown means, to a building that seems to delight in transporting many people from many different worlds into it. There is no way to leave that any of us currently know about, so you should probably get used to your predicament.

Sadly, that work will have to be put on hold until a way back is found. You have my sympathy, dearest Emmy.

Is something the matter? You seem rather nervous.

[identity profile] monocle-layton.livejournal.com 2011-12-15 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[Pauses thoughtfully.]

What was happening around you before you arrived here?

[identity profile] monocle-layton.livejournal.com 2011-12-15 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahhh, the Golden Garden incident.

Yes... I can see how that would have been most difficult if you weren't around, Emmy. You contributed a lot. I'm not jesting when I say that your absence may have shattering effects on your world.

In which case we should research a method; but sadly by the time one is found it may already be too late.

[Sighs.]

I will do all that I can, my dear.

[identity profile] monocle-layton.livejournal.com 2011-12-15 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
That's because I am. Several years after it, as a matter of fact.

[identity profile] monocle-layton.livejournal.com 2011-12-15 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh, now that's a subject and a half!]

I know... a few things. But I'm surprised that you of all people would be asking about that, Emmy.

[identity profile] monocle-layton.livejournal.com 2011-12-15 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh how you pry. So very unbecoming of you, my dear.

But if you must know, after you left I met a man who claimed to be able to produce a working time machine. The notion intrigued me.

[Yes, he is going to be as vague as that.]

He seems to think that he is. He's worked long and hard on it, but his efforts have mostly been unfruitful in terms of satisfactory results.
