Well, this is certainly odd.
[Emmy stumbles a little as she appears in the lobby - understandable, really, given that she was stepping out of the Laytonmobile just a moment before. Much as she'd been paying more attention to Layton than her surroundings, she rather doubts that they're parked in a building. After all, they were supposed to be outside Misthallery, and who would put a town inside? Other than, well. Turning on her heel, she discovers that the Laytonmobile isn't even there behind her, anyway, and she promptly wheels around in a full circle to try to get a good look at her surroundings.]
Professor Layton!?
...anyone?
Professor Layton!?
...anyone?

What was happening around you before you arrived here?

You and I had just arrived in Misthallery. You'd received a letter from your old friend, and we were going to investigate it.
no subject
Yes... I can see how that would have been most difficult if you weren't around, Emmy. You contributed a lot. I'm not jesting when I say that your absence may have shattering effects on your world.

...I... need to get back there, then.

[Sighs.]
I will do all that I can, my dear.

You--
You talk about the time as if you're from after it.

I know... a few things. But I'm surprised that you of all people would be asking about that, Emmy.

What is it that you know?

But if you must know, after you left I met a man who claimed to be able to produce a working time machine. The notion intrigued me.
[Yes, he is going to be as vague as that.]
no subject
Was he telling the truth? About the time machine?

Emmy, I'm hurt.
[Still smirking though.]

Tell me what you know about Clive Dove, professor.
