...m'okay. I just... I don't know. God. This is new for me.

[She reaches up, pulling her mask away and tossing it down on the bed without moving her face from the muffler.]

Ugh. I'm sick of the mask, double. Is it okay to show my face? I mean... it won't freak him out or anything, right?

[It's easier, just addressing things to Descole rather than actually talking to Bradley, even if she knows it's rude.]

[Descole nods;] Yeah he wont care. And if he does, we'll just kick him.

[Bradley looks confused.] About what?

[Descole moves his doubles hair lightly, and he takes off his own mask in the process.]

[The blonde looked shocked slightly and cocked his head to the side.] That looks terrible. How did that happen, i-if you don't mind me asking...

Layton did it, in my world. ...does he know who Layton is, double?

[She shakes her head just a little, tilting her head in to where his fingers are. She's hoping that at least if she mostly just speaks to Descole at first, then she'll get used to the idea of someone else being there.]

[Descole nods;] Yeah he knows mine. Layton in her world is a jerk.

[Bradley nodded and began drumming on the ball.]

I'm sorry that happened to you. Why...I mean...I'm sorry....

...thank you. As for why he did it, I have no idea, I can't begin to think how his mind works.

[She watches Bradley through her good eye a moment, still clinging on tight to Descole.]

[Bradley shakes his head and starts bouncing the ball.]

I'm sorry. Well, at least you're still pretty.

[Descole smiles and nudged her;] see? I told you you're pretty. Of course he has a bias, but still.

Ehh... maybe before. But, really, it's hardly pretty to be missing an eye.

[She sighs, shaking her head and glancing back at Bradley again, before looking up at Descole.]

...god, I ought to stop hanging off you this whole time, now.

[Bradley shrugs.]

I dunno, even without it, the rest of you is pretty.

[Descole shook his head;] You're fine, m'love.

[Bradley just nodded.]

[Descole flushes uncomfortably, pulling away from her double and hugging her knees to her chest.]

Really, I... I'm especially not pretty with all the other scars. You've seen them, double, you know what I mean.

Scars don't make people pretty or not. I certainly have my scars. Figuratively and metaphorically. Hell, so does Jean.

[Descole nods in agreement as he takes her hand lightly;] He's right you know. And haven't I told you that before?

[She shakes her head, staring down at hers and Descole's joined hands.]

I'm just... I'm not good at this.

[Descole looks at her with a smile;] there's nothing wrong. It's okay.

[Bradley looks down at his legs and sighs.]

I'm not good at this either...

...would either of you like a drink? I'll get one.

[Moving off the bed, Descole heads out for the mini-fridge, willing it to give in to her this time and not just fill itself with non-alcoholic drinks like it has been lately..]

[Descole nods;] Don't hurt yourself double. But I think we can appreciate that.

[Bradley raises an eyebrow at Descole.]

You shouldn't be drinking, but I guess we're fine, since we're confined here.

[The brunette shakes his head;] You need to stop worrying about me.

[There's a muffled curse from the other room before Descole returns holding a selection of drinks. No alcohol, though.]

Sorry. It still won't give me anything. God.

I don't know. If you really want alcohol then you're welcome to try yourself, double.

[Though, of course, if he does get any then she'll be taking advantage of that herself.]

[Descole walks to the drawer and pulls out one bottle;] well, I don't know if it's giving me any more than this. At least it'll up your sodium intake.

[Bradley helps pour some glasses, and takes one for himself. He watches Descole sit next to gis double and hand her a drink.]

This place is weird...

Oh, thank god it likes you, at least.

[She takes a long swig, glancing at Bradley.]

Well... you'll probably get used to it. It's convenient, mostly, so at least there's that.

[At which point she turns back to her drink, trying to force herself not to drink it all in one go. Like Descole said, there's no guarantee he'll be able to get any more, especially if the place realises she's drinking it herself.]

So this place just up and gives you what you need? You're right, how convenient. Now it needs to learn not to give you any alcohol, because it's not good for your fragile frame.

[Descole snorts a little;] fragile yeah right.

[Bradley pushes him lightly.]

The doctor said you can't drink. It could stop your organs because they're not used to working.

[Descole shook his head, ignoring him.] See what I have to put up with, double?

[Descole snorts a bit, swigging her drink again.]

Oh, don't tell it not to give double alcohol either, or I'll have to use you as a supplier instead. It's already refused to give me any.

Perhaps for your own good. If you're anything like Jean here, which obviously you are, maybe it wouldn't be good. The doctor told him since he'd been starving for so long, if he binges on anything his body could go into shock.

[Descole sighs.] Thanks for telling her all of my confidential medical information. How about you tell her my blood type too?

[Bradley shook his head.]

It's for your own good.

[Descole huffs a bit and downs the rest of her drink, putting the glass down on the bed with a little more force than is strictly necessary.]

Well, I've been doing just fine up until now, you know. And I don't need anyone else to look after me and do things for my good, thank you, double will suffice.

[Sorry, Bradley, but if you're taking the DR's side in it then you're going to attract the bitching she can't really direct at the building.]

[Bradley looks worried at her outburst and then he looks down, saying nothing.]

[Descole looks at her.] Double, it's okay, we always talk like this to each other. It's how we communicate. He scolds me and I make fun of him. It wasn't any personal attack.

[The blonde bites his bottom lip and pulls one leg up close to him, in a gentle matter.]

I didn't mean to offend...

[Descole sighs, pulling her knees to her chest and rests her cheek on her knees.]

...ugh. Fuck. I told you I get like this, double.

...can I get a refill?

[Descole puts his hand lightly on her knee, trying to display he forgives her and he pours her another glass.]

[Bradley, on the otherhand, senses something different.]

I...am I intruding? I probably shouldn't be here.

[Descole gives a confused look;] intruding? You're not intruding at all, we all get thrust here. You're not any different.

[The tall man, on the floor shakes his head.]

Perhaps I should leave you two alone...

Why would you leave?

[She smiles across at Descole after she's spoken, sipping at her drink as she looks back at Bradley. At the same time, she moves to lean up against her double, uncurling and resting her cheek against his shoulder.]

Just because I'm incapable of socialising doesn't mean that you should leave. If anyone should go, it's me.
