Well, this is certainly odd.
[Emmy stumbles a little as she appears in the lobby - understandable, really, given that she was stepping out of the Laytonmobile just a moment before. Much as she'd been paying more attention to Layton than her surroundings, she rather doubts that they're parked in a building. After all, they were supposed to be outside Misthallery, and who would put a town inside? Other than, well. Turning on her heel, she discovers that the Laytonmobile isn't even there behind her, anyway, and she promptly wheels around in a full circle to try to get a good look at her surroundings.]
Professor Layton!?
...anyone?
Professor Layton!?
...anyone?

Oh Emmy. So so particular. I never would have pinned you as one to sleep around. You always said, in our minimal conversations you were a refined but strong woman.

Emmy, Emmy. You're such a pretty girl...

My point is, there is something you aren't telling me here. Now if you want to play this game, I'm sure I'll figure it out on my own, but know this: I will find out what you're hiding.
That is, if I haven't already.
[He smirks and waits for a response.]
no subject
[She smirks, as well, determined not to falter with him this close. She's not so stupid as to think he wouldn't catch it, after all.]
You only get points for catching every detail of this apparent secret, by the way.
no subject
[He thinks a moment and nods.]
Well, I don't have anything set in stone yet. Personally, but I have noticed you've been asking a lot of questions. Now for Layton's apprentice that's very usual, but they are generally questions one could say are, on all levels relevant. Yours, however are not.
Secondly, you do not stand like the Emmy I knew. Your knees are slightly bent and your shoulders are not back, like she kept her so often. You, seem to stand like a male.
Lastly, that I've noticed, weren't you shorter the last time I saw you? Perhaps an inch or so?
[He snickers.]
Did I miss something, Ms. Altava?
no subject
I think I can rather see why you know us as enemies.
However, I do have one point of contention with your theory; you see, it's all based on evidence of prior knowledge of Emmy Altava. In my world, though, I am Emmy Altava. She is entirely my own fabrication, there.
no subject
The Emmy I know, or at least, I think I know, is a woman, and her own woman. You...you are certainly a work of art aren't you?
So, if Emmy Altava is a fabrication, who might you be under that disguise?
[He snickers.]
Oh, I can still rather see us as friends, by the way.
no subject
[She pulls the wig off, resting it in the crook of her arm.]
Clive Dove. Clive will do, as I'm calling you Jean.
no subject
So, how many points did I get?
no subject
no subject
I was only joking. So, Clive, what's your story? Whats your motive to dress as Emmy?
no subject
Except... that the guy who I'm... working with, he says sometimes that he's not sure about involving Layton in our plans at all, let alone something like this, so I had to make a disguise that nobody would ever connect to me.
no subject
I'll admit it's a good idea.
So tell me, where all your exploits of men true?
no subject
[She flushes, running a hand through her hair.]
Yes, though. Girls are nice enough, they look nice, but I'm not really... they're not my thing.
no subject
So they are true then. Tell me, does Professor Layton know anything about these exploits? You also said you two talk about your relationships often when you were threatening to ask about me.
no subject
No. I mean... he's welcome to ask, though in his case I'm sure that I would lie, but he never has done.
no subject
Anyway, just so you know, Layton and I where never involved.
no subject
Sure about that, Jean? Come now, I'm being perfectly honest with you now, and you won't even admit being with Layton to me. I mean, really, I'm a reporter.
no subject
Besides, Hershel is of no consequence to me anymore.
[Hm, that wording didn't come out like he'd planned.]
And you're around Layton often. Would you think he'd be the type to run off with a man I think not. Do I even seem like the type to run off with a man.
There. Perfectly honest.
no subject
As for the two of you... well, the professor seems the type to perhaps... indulge, with a man, although I'm not sure he'd really want to talk of it afterwards. Do you seem the type to run off with a man? Of course you do. I mean, look at what you're wearing.
[Says the one dressed as Emmy Altava.]
no subject
Touche...though compared to what you're wearing, engarde.
Yeah you're right Hershel is certainly one to indulge in a man.
no subject
[She laughs as soon as she says it, though.]
Not that I don't like the look. It suits you, I think.
no subject
I've been in theater and performing arts my whole life. It makes sense when you think about it.
