[Claire had been on her way to the labs, when she'd absentmindedly started looking through the window of a hat store she past everyday to look at that one particular top hat on display that she was particularly fond of. Shaking her head, she turned back to find that her route was... not the same as it had been. No longer was she walking down the street, or was even outside, but in what looked like the corridor of a hotel.

She was understandably confused by this.]

Wh-what's going on here?

[OOC: Have a pre-canon Claire. She's just recently started working at the labs and has met Layton but hasn't started dating him yet.]

[She walks in, looking around.]

It looks nice.

[Notices the papers on the desk.]

Same old Dimitri; always caught up in your work, aren't you?

[He laughs and walks over to his desk. He quickly hid his doodles amidst the work.]

Yeah, that's...that's me.

[He snickers lightly a little embarrassed.]

Where you drawing something?

[Trying to look over his shoulder.]

Eh, I doodle a lot. It helps me with ideas. It's nothing.

[Oh god, please don't look.]

How creative~ Let me take a look.

[She reaches past to grab one of the doodles.]

[Dispute Dimitri's mental pleading, the drawings she sees are of various things. Buildings, places, animals and people. One of which is an uncanny picture of Claire herself that Dimitri had forgotten about.]

[Blushing;] Okay, let's not keep looking at my boredom.

Is that...? Wow, Dimitri, this is really good! [Blushes a little.]

T-thanks. I know, this is kind of on the verge of stalker, but there is an explanation. I like drawing hair, and besides myself, you're the next person I know who has a lot of hair.

[Jeez, how much more awkward could this get? He just wants her to believe him. He's so worried about pushing her away accidentlu. He finally just got her back, she could leave again.]

[She smiles.]

You're really bad at coming up with excuses, you know. But I kind of like that. [Giggling a little.]

[He blushes even harder and tries to save some face with a laugh.]

Well, what story would you like me to give? That one, that's more reasonable, or this one: I was thinking about you, and thought I'd sketch you.

[Well that's how's artists did it right?]

Well... um, y-you think about me?

W-well we are friends. Why wouldn't I?

[His blush was now turning his face into a tomato. Had she noticed?]

[Leans in closer.]

But you're blushing! Um, in the future... do you and I...?

[He opens his mouth in surprise.]

Oh, no. No, you find prince charming. Heh, I'm really shy showing my art, is all. They're not very good doodles.

Oh...

[She looks away for a moment, then she glances back.]

Can I... keep this one? I really like it.

Of course.

[He answers her with a smile, that widens as she gives a strange look.]

You seem disappointed...any reason?

Not at all, I just... nevermind.

[She folds the picture up and puts it in her pocket.]

Heh, maybe the idea of dating just seems odd. I doubt I'd have time outside of work.

Love happens unexpectedly, doesn't it?

Well of course I don't expect you to know right now, but you will.

[He let's out an embarrassed snicker. He was never this awkward in front of Claire. It must have been something to do with her not knowing anything. It hurt pretty bad.]

Perhaps... But then again I believe that my life has just been altered rather drastically. I'm still free to make my own choices, wouldn't you say?

I suppose. What do you mean your life has changed drastically? I-I mean if you don't mind my asking.

Well, where you come from I was presumably never sent to this dimension, right?

I guess so. Presumably, yes.

But I don't know if you can change the future or past. Physics seem it impossible.

Over time perhaps we'll find out. Even minus Bill we're a team, if anyone can research this place it's us.

[Dimitri nods and gives a smile in agreement. There's a moment of silence before he speaks again.]

Truthfully, without Bill, I'd say we're more a team. I figure I can say that since we're in a time anomaly.
