[Huzzah! Your Prime Minister has returned to life! He's currently shakily getting to his feet in the lobby, because being dead for ten days leaves you feeling a little disorientated. With him, is attached a note from the Dressing Room itself in regards to the winners of our game of Cluedo.

It reads as follows:

"Dear Residents of the Dressing Room,

Following our game of Cluedo, we have three winners, all of whom guessed at least in the right area and were close enough to merit a reward; Snakes and Ladders, Scrabble, and Claire. Twister will also be gifted due to being such a cooperative game piece.

Those winners will be gifted one wish, to be made at any point before the end of the month. As a penalty, those who guessed incorrectly or failed to offer a guess are to have one thing that's most precious to them taken away, to be returned at the end of the month. Thank you for playing, and congratulations to the winners.

[There's a large noticeboard set up in the lobby, with something that looks like a ballot box in front of it. On the noticeboard is written the following;]

Dear Residents of the Dressing Room,

As you know, the Prime Minister of this place, Twister, has recently expired. In the interests of raising spirits at such a time, and as people have been conducting investigations, I propose a game. A game of Cluedo, more or less.

Please place your guesses as to the murderer within the box. Correct guesses will be rewarded, while incorrect guesses and those who fail to offer a guess will be penalised. Upon his return, Twister will be given the means to confirm which residents are to receive reward. Have fun playing, residents.

Prime Minister Hershal Layton was found dead in the lobby this past week. Those with medical knowledge have said that it was purposeful murder, and many are currently collecting clues and attempting to pinpoint who the killer is and why. So far, it has been discovered that the cause of death was several stab wounds that look as though there were caused by something with claws. He has yet to be revived by the strange entity that lords over this building, and anyone with information is urged to come forward.

{SECOND, if you happen to be on the roof, you might hear some sniffling coming from behind one of the metal boxes that all roofs seem to have.}

[Claire has been working on her investigation into Twister's murder. She's complied a list of notes about what she has discovered so far. It reads as follows:

- After being cleaned up, the body was found to have several gash marks on it's chest. Some kind of animal?
- Luke seems to think that it might have been a person trying to convince us it was an animal by fabricating the extent of the wounds.
- Regardless, he definitely died by being stabbed through the heart.
- Ms. Layton has laid a claim to taking over as Prime Minister soon after the death. She is a suspect.
~~- Talking to Clive has shown that Prime Minister Twister killed him before all this happened.~~ This isn't relevant to the case? Unless it pins Clive as a suspect.
- Don Paolo claims to be the last person to have seen Twister before he died. He says he witnessed him talking to a Clive he was unfamiliar with in the lobby.
- Talk to the Clives to find out if any of them were with Twister on the day of the murder?
- Don't bother with that one annoying Clive until it becomes unavoidable.

She's frowning. Talking to all of the Clives would take ages... Feel free to give her some advice, whether you fall into the Clive category or not.]

Given the death of my double and the fact that he has yet to return, we have something of a conundrum. In times like this, we need a leader more than ever, and yet due to some unknown hand we're without one now.

And so as the person who received the second-most votes within the election, I willl be taking control of this place until at least such time as his return, if he does indeed return to us. If, as I'm sure we all hope, Twister is returned to the world of the living at some point in the future, we can look then at how to proceed, because after all it's entirely possible that after such a traumatic event as his own death, he may not want to continue his rule. If that's the case, though, rest assured that I will be happy to remain your leader.

[Like a few of the other residents, Claire has discovered Monocle's body lying in the lobby. In response to this, she has decided to investigate the corpse for any clues as to what might have happened to it.]

What could possibly have made injuries like this...?

[He's not to show emotions in public unless they're positive, and even then in moderation. Tyrannus can't say why it's now of all times that he remembers that particular instruction of Roulette's, particularly given that it's one that he'd never bothered to follow in his own world and he certainly isn't following it now. Though his emotions - on show as they are - are... quieter, for the moment. Roulette would approve, he's sure.

He's still in the lobby; but curled into a corner, down on the floor and far away from Twister's body without being too far to keep his eyes on it. It's a vigil of sorts, the wait for the building to dispose of the body and return its owner to life. And as fits a vigil, for once in his life Tyrannus is quiet. Not quite silent - not with the hitched breaths that come from crying, even considering that he's just letting the tears fall without any attempt to mask them or make a fuss over them - but closer to it than is customary for him, more subdued than he's been without having done something wrong himself.

Considering, though, that a vigil for ten days without eating or drinking would lead to Tyrannus joining Twister, it's probably for the best for somebody to interrupt him and try to convince him to move.]

[Let's start off this fine day by having a dead body lying in the lobby. I'm sure this wouldn't be the most shocking occurrence in the world, if only it wasn’t for the fact that this body belonged to the Prime Minister. That’s probably going to be messy, lots of paperwork and all that. The body itself is certainly in a mess of blood.

Even stranger, is the fact that this body has not disappeared – as is usually the case when Dressing Room residents pass away. It’s just lying there, waiting for loyal subjects to investigate it and find out the source of its murder.

So, best get cracking with this case while the body’s still fresh!]

MURDER MYSTERY EVENT
A fitting them for an event, considering the recent redesign of the Dressing Room and the large amount of residents from the Monocle AU. Like the title says, it's murder mystery week! Would you believe that

monocle_layton, our glorious Prime Minister, has been murdered? And your job, as his loving subjects, is to find our who killed him, where they killed him and what they killed him with. Feel free to ask any questions and hold any suspects. Unless, well, you ARE the killer.

But you're not the killer, right? ;D

This event will run from Monday 9th July to Wednesday 18th July

SECONDARY ANNOUNCEMENT THING:

Some of the nickname themes for multiple characters have been decided. Laytons will be named after games, Clives will be named after birds and Lukes will be named after sports. Other characters (Descoles, Dimitris, etc.) will have themes chosen at a later date. I'm sure that in the near future we can create a list of who has what nickname, so that it's easier for everyone.

EDIT: To commemorate the move IC, and also so as to cater to the fifty million evil!Laytons we've somehow amassed, the DR now looks like a bigger, even more batshit version of the Towering Pagoda. Err... enjoy?

This is a note to say that as of next Monday (June 25), we'll be migrating the comm over to Dreamwidth. Each update makes LiveJournal more unwieldy to run an RP comm on, whereas Dreamwidth is a lot better in terms of user input and just the general workability of the site at this point.

The name will remain the same (laytondressing).

After seeing the state that Clive had gotten himself into due to one of his doubles, he couldn't stand by and let it carry on. Even if that double is from Clive's home world and should therefore be the one Clive should logically be with.

So, after a while, he has tracked Roulette down to his room and knocks on the door firmly, awaiting a response.]
